Our raison d'être and our statutory objectives

The raison d’être of 1432 is to recreate an innovative, local, and sustainable industrial model for the European bicycle industry, instilling a regional dynamic in which employees can fulfill their potential.

1432 aims to generate a positive and significant social, societal, and environmental impact in the course of its activities.

Statutory objectives

  • 1432 designs and develops bike components and sub-assemblies adapted to customer needs, using an eco-design approach.
  • 1432 and its ecosystem are innovating to anticipate the future uses of bikes and make products more sustainable.
  • 1432 provides the bike industry with a local, agile industrial force combining quality and competitiveness. In this way, 1432 recreates an economic dynamic in the region.
  • 1432 offers its customers logistics solutions to optimize their operations and their response to the market.
  • 1432 is building a scalable, sustainable reindustrialization model that enables employees to realize their full potential.

As part of this approach, the President undertakes to take into consideration (i) the social, societal, and environmental consequences of his decisions on all of the Company’s stakeholders, and (ii) the consequences of his decisions on the environment.

Manifesto and objectives

We have defined our guidelines to set an ambitious course, in terms of environmental and social goals and objectives:

Goals Objectives
Local sourcing contributes to local dynamism, elevates the environmental standards, and reduces the impact of transports. We favor the local industrial partners at the region scale when it is possible, at the country level or at the European limitrophe countries level when the technology doesn’t exist locally. Offshoring is outside our DNA
  • 50% of our direct suppliers are located <300km from our premises
  • 90% of our direct suppliers are in France
  • 100% of our direct suppliers are European
Eco-design is at the heart of our approach. Our product design and manufacturing process choices are guided by the pursuit of impact reduction. The impact must be analyzed as a whole and not just through CO2 emissions.
  • Lifecycle analysis conducted for 100% of the commercialized product
Resources are finite. We design products that limit the need for material extraction, particularly by favoring recycled materials
  • > 90% of recyclability rate for our components in average
  • > 50% of recycled raw material in our commercialized products
Diversity is a source of wealth for the company. We want 1432 to be a place of diversity and, above all, a place of equality for women and men. We encourage women in leadership positions, including in technology.
  • > 50% of women in the executive committee
  • > 50% of women for the managing positions
  • > 50% of women for the technical positions
